Noah & The Whale - “First Days of Spring”
This new record seems quite different than their debut, though I’m still in the process of listening to it. But this already sticks out as an absolutely stunning song from the Brit Anti-Folks.

Florence & the Machine - “Dog Days Are Over”
Love this track - off the new record, Lungs. You should probably try and get your hands on this record as soon as possible (not released yet in the US, I don’t think, but available in the UK). You’ll fall in love. I promise.
The Guggenheim Grotto - “Sunshine Makes Me High”
This one’s for Laurel.
Japandroids - “I Quit Girls”
I’m completely and utterly enthralled with this song right now. And this album, as a matter of fact. Such a different sound - heavy without being distracting. Not sure how to describe it, but I’m a fan, and I’m so sad I’ll be missing their appearance at Siren this year. But I just noticed they’re playing Pianos a week earlier… Yes! Hope you like the track.
This is awesome. I want a tilt-shift lens too.
i love grizzly bear. hilarious.
Today’s shoot went well. Danielle is fantastic.
White Rabbits - “Percussion Gun”
Loving the new White Rabbits record. It’s so good. And now I’m really kicking myself for missing their Bowery show with my buddies The Antlers last night. Ugh. Oh well. Back to my original point, this is a great album and could easily be up there as one of my favorites of 2009. The opening track, above, is so freaking catchy. I can’t get enough. Enjoy!
Glee.
If you missed the pilot episode of this new show, you should really fix that. I just watched it, and it’s fantastic. Also star-studded: Matthew Morrison and Lea Michele are two of the leads. If you don’t know the names, you probably know their voices - Matthew was the lead in Hairspray and Light in the Piazza (and on both cast recordings) and Lea was a lead in Spring Awakening (and is on the cast album). This show has a lot of potential, especially for us musical theater nerds. Can’t wait for it to start this fall!
